Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign myself up for a class?
Upcoming events are listed in the Events Calendar. Click the Sign Up link next to the event and use the "Sign up myself for this event" option.

How do I sign more than one person up for a class?
Upcoming events are listed in the Events Calendar. Click the Sign Up link next to the event and use the "Sign up multiple attendees for this event" option. If you don't yet know who will be attending but you want to reserve one or more slots, select the "TBD" checkbox.

What if I want to buy a large number of tickets?
In order to register for a program we need to know the name(s) of the attendee(s). If you know all of the names you can register on the website. If you want to buy a block of tickets you can select "Sign up multiple attendees for this event", check the TBD option, select the number of tickets you want, and later fill in the names of the attendees. For assistance please contact the Director, Robyn Lipsky, at (415)522-4151 or Robyn_Lipsky@cand.uscourts.gov

I went to an event and either forgot to take or have lost my MCLE form. How do I get another one?

I signed up for a program but can't make it. Can I get my money back?
Unfortunately the Practice Program does not offer refunds. While we know that lawyers' schedules are frequently in flux, we also need to know how may guests to expect. If you are unable to attend a program you may, however, send someone in your place. For ease of check-in and to ensure proper MCLE credits it is very helpful to us if the person substituting knows the name of the person whose space he or she is taking.

I got shut out of a program I really wanted to come to. What can I do?
You can put yourself on the waitlist -- as space opens up in a program you will automatically be notified that a space has become available. If no space has opened up and you are still anxious to attend you can contact the Director, Robyn Lipsky at Robyn_Lipsky@cand.uscourts.gov. If you got shut out of a program and we will be offering it again in the near future, you can contact Robyn Lipsky and she will attempt to ensure you a spot in the upcoming program.

Also some programs may have been videotaped and may be available on LegalSpan. Check the link to LegalSpan on the links page.

Are these programs open to anyone?
Yes.
